Welcome to the Bourne Homeschool!

Bourne Homeschool is a curated website of secular educational materials and programs for all ages. These materials may be used by parents or teachers to augment traditional education programs or they can be utilized as resources for homeschooling families.

Where possible, there is a particular emphasis on open source materials free to use in online course development at no cost to educators or students. This should be especially useful during the stay-at-home education adjustments necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You will also find supporting sites for differentiation.

Andrea Bourne has been a French, Spanish, ESL, statistics, and social studies instructor and department chair in K-12 and college for nearly three decades. She has also been a homeschooling mom. She has served in various administrative positions, including as a college instructor, assessment director, institutional research analyst, an associate vice-president supervising cradle-to-grave course development, assessment, professional development, and accreditation metrics for a 12-campus institution including an online branch and an additional 6-12 college preparatory school. She has been an online educator since 1999 and involved in distance learning since 1993. Andrea has earned degrees in French, psychology, political science, and education, most recently reaching an ABD specializing in psychometrics and linguistics. She has held state teaching certifications in French, Spanish, and social studies, elementary through high school, in Georgia, Florida, Hawaii and North Carolina with an ESOL endorsement in Georgia, Florida, and Hawaii and an Online Teaching Endorsement in Georgia. Volunteering has played a significant role in Andrea's life. Some highlights include work with Rotary, Junior League, the American Red Cross, LibriVox, and Mensa. Andrea, her husband Steve, and their three children love to travel, cook, read, write, paint, renovate, play music, garden, and play games. They own businesses in the area of education, program evaluation, life coaching, software development, environmental resiliency, and real estate investment.
